Any family or friends in Ghana and Jamaica?

My son is visiting Jamaica and Ghana for 2 months each---for his academic research. Would like to have a local contact to help him settle and get a reasonable place to stay. Anybody having local contacts in both these places, or if you know any helpful sites, do write in

check if your son can go to the university in ghana.they take on foreign students even for short periods.
if that doesnt work,there are several hostels for foreign students at the university of ghana.these are reasonably priced.
