No it does not make you a bad person, though it may make you someone who is hard to be around. It's all about striking up a medium of what is acceptable to you and what is not.

Let me explain:

If you get justifiable riled about something that is important and in the scheme of things that could cause an accident or would need a lot of money to rectify the incompetence. In my mind that is fine.

You may have different standards than those of other people and find it hard to accept that not everyone does the job well (as well as you would do it in fact). If you are pedantic in all things you are in danger of becoming a pain in the neck, so like I said it's all about learning to live with other peoples mistakes.

My own experience, I have had to learn to lower my own standards over mundane things...such as bad workmanship not and spend hours tearing my hair making myself ill because somework man couldn't give a stuff if the the job had been done properly or not ..... after all there will always other silly suckers who he can fleece. Recently had new bathroom installed and the experience was an utter nightmare.

No if you adhere to your principles without compromise you will end up one unhappy soul. However, if you are prepared to compromise and give and take..realising that not all people have the same high standards as you, you will become a far happier person.

You need to tell us your definition of incompetence. Would you flame the new, sixteen year old temp for forgetting to put the date on something? If so you sound like a pompous, arrogant person and you would be the worst boss in the world. Give people a chance, not everyone can live up to your precious ideals.

Yes. No one plans to be incompetent. If you're so with it that you never make a mistake, well, aren't you the lucky one. It gives you no right to despise anyone.
We all have strengths and weakensses. Your weakness might be intolerance.

Yes. It is not a nice trait to despise anything. It would be fine if you tried to be competent yourself and to help other people to be competent.

Mind you, it would be a lot worse if you despised incompetent people as well

IT doesn't make you a bad person, but it might give you an early ulcer. We are all incompetent in some way. Good Luck

No, you just have high expectations of others.

Careful though, as what you may see as incompetence may just be mistakes that normal people make. And as I'm assuming you're human, I'd expect that you'd make some of those mistakes yourself.

It would be a bit hypocritical of you to slate someone for that, only for you to make one yourself.

no but it might make you an intollerant person and that would be bad. Cut people some more slack. there will always be those who are less competent than you just as there will always be those who are more competent than you. How do you want them to treat you?

Being able to despise things and acknowledge that trait is already something of a courageous achievement in our sanctimonious society. If you can't despise, you can't admire; if you can't hate, what value your love.
