it sounds to me like your skin is sensitive and if youve been using a lot of different products to treat the problem its going to be reacting to that. You need to leave it alone for about 2 weeks; by that i mean you need to remind your skin how to heal itself. Go to Boots and buy a tub of very gentle cleanser, johnsons ph 5.5 is good or just an emollient like liquid paraffin. Dont put anything else on it until it starts to clear up. By over cleansing skin you are removing all the surface oils, and it will dry out even further. All you are doing when you moisturise is putting a layer over the skin; what you need to happen is for your skin to produce its own oils to combat the problem and if you keep irritating it, it will 'forget'. Winter will make the problem worse most likely - if you work in a warm office make sure you place a bowl of water underneath the radiators so that the heat isnt robbing moisture from your skin(it does make a difference believe it or not!).

Im a beauty therapist so im advising you from what ive learned and seen from clients ive treated. Last year, I was very ill and my skin became so dry i couldnt even wear make up. I tried every treatment and cream produced to clear it up. Out of pure desperation I tried something recommended to me by a friend. Its called Urine Therapy and it is as disgusting as it sounds but in about a week the problem cleared up. I havent space to go into it here but if you are that desperate google it and try it out. It makes total sense and it does work and best of all, it doesnt cost a thing! ;0) If none of this works; go and see a good beauty therapist for a facial and take their advice. If they are well qualified professionals they should know what theyre talking about and be able to advise on treatment and products. Hope you manage to sort it out....

I use aqueous cream when my skin is sensitive - usually in the winter. You can use it like a soap as well and it's really gentle. A huge tub costs next to nothing at the chemists or Boots. E45 is also good and doesn't cost the earth. Or just try and moisturiser for sensitive skin, Superdrug do a nice one of their own, it's fragrance free and reasonably priced. It's usually a case of trial and error and working out which products work for you so don't buy anything too expensive until you know what your skin will tolerate. Good luck x x

No soap, if you must use baby new born soap. Drink more water because you can me dehydrated. No creams with added perfume, never, it’s unnatural. Fruit and veggies, very good and get fish oil capsules it will put a bit of healthy oil in your system. Now and then take a baby oil bath, it will moist your skin, about the scrub, never do it! Your skin is to sensitive for that. At night was you face gently with baby soap and apply a natural cream, go to the pharmacy they have medical cream, not to expensive. Never was your face in the morning, just splash it with water. Remember your skin is dry, it need natural oil if you wash it all the time you wash it away… Be gentle… Good

You could maybe try the Simple skin care range, it has no perfume so it's suitable for sensitive skin. It's quite reasonably priced and easy to find. There is also the Neutrogena range which has products for dry skin.
Also, I have found another website which is aimed at sufferers of acne-rosacea (me) and advertises products to sooth the skin and reduce redness, I think it's worth a look.
Good luck!

It sounds like you have sensitive skin. I have sensitive skin aswell and I find that using mosturisers that are fully sorbelene cream are 100% better than other creams. Try the cheaper creams and the non-scented ones as for these are less likely to cause irritation of the skin.

Try some home remeidies as they cost no harm to you. take some orange peels wash and dry them in sun. grind the dried off orange peels into a fine powder and every morning instead of soap wash your face with pint of orange peel powder added and little fresh milk or fresh cream. i have tried it and it really helps you hardly need any soap or cream to apply later.

Don't scrub your face!!! It sounds as if it's really sensitive and dry! You'll only make it worse! Try products by Avene - they are super for dry skin!
