According to one survey in the Seattle Times and Boricua News, Puerto Ricans claimed to be the happiest, but in another study, at this site: http://www.happynews.com/news/11142005/happiest-people-in.htm

The survey concluded that the top five happiest groups were to be found in Australia, the United States, Egypt, India and the United Kingdom and Canada, tying for fifth place.

Still more in-fighting about who's the happiest: A BBC article (below) claimed that people in Nigeria were the happiest and Romanians the LEAST happy

Then again, according to an article in the Boston Globe, (see below) the people in Cay Nicobar, in the Bay of Bengal, claimed to be happiest, despite the recent tsunami.

So...I say it's up for grabs. I'd vote for Puerto Rico, as they SEEM to have the best climate and most festivals, and fewest coup d'etats!

I believe any Muslim communities are the happiest. Statistics show they have the lowest crime rate, the lowest rates of alcoholism, the lowest rates of drug users, the lowest rates of divorce.
As far as everyone & his unlce trying to get into the US....ha ha ha ha! I wouldn't go if you paid me! They have the highest crime rates in the world! Who wants to live somewhere you can't let your kids play outside without the fear of them being abducted, murdered or molested? No thank you!
