I would think the majority do because of maternal instinct - but certainly not all of them. Maybe 60-70% of women like kids.

nope....just because we can carry a child for 9 months doesn't mean we like kids....we might like our own, but not others....I'm a teacher and I like to think I have a soft spot for children, however, some of my colleagues, who have children of their own, do not. Furthermore, these colleagues are forthcoming about their feelings (with other teachers, of course) and I've often wondered why they chose this profession.

Mothers account for 55% of all fatal child abuse committed by anyone. This while fathers account for 8%, stepmothers for 9%, and stepfathers for 10%. These rate remain consistent when custody is considered. Does this sound like maternal instinct?

I agree, it's probably maternal instinct. Some women just don't like children though.

i dont think its necessary for all women to like children..how about girls who go through a very difficult childhood..they grow up feeling disgusted about kids..

Its because all the kids seem so helpless but have the promise of goodness.
Plus the fact that priests roam our streets. We HAVE to protect them.
