i think england will win despite trescos leave. we are never favourites when it comes to playing australia but we could upset them again with our squad. with harmison, freddie, panesar, cook, strauss, collingwood etc we have always got a good chance of upset down under.
Come On You England!! Come On You Barmy Army!!!! :D

Australia are obviously favourites but Trescothicks loss i not bad at all for us.
true, he is a great opener and has experience in Australia but his form recently has been terrible and i would rather have in-form Bell, Collingwood and Cook, than two of them and an out-of -form Trescothick.

Stresscothick is crap so he is no loss but England haven't really done anything since the last series to indicate they will be any good. Shaun Tait who probably will be left out of at least the first test team managed to destroy the bowlers simply by bowling fast. I think the English will probably take too long to get used to the faster and bouncier pitches and their top order looks shaky which will in turn put pressure on Flintoff and Pietersen. I can't see the English winning this one. If they are to have a chance then it will come down to Harmison taking bagfuls of wickets in each and every match.

Considering the present strength and form of players of both the teams, Australia will win the ashes 2006

im kinder hoping that england will retain the ashes but they will only achieve this if they remain focused on the job in hand.they should bring back darren gough and have more variety in the bowling instead of half fit players
