fyi bogey there is no medical evidence to support that the menopause comes sooner if ur on the pill i think its the best method of contraception to begin with its safe and easy to use and if you remember to take it its nearly 100% effective in preventing pregnancy and lets face it in this day in age whos gonna wanna resort to abstinence???
its great that your mums going to the doctors with you because if you have any problems or worries afterwards you can ask her to help and also dont be embarrased to talk to your doctor your not the 1st person thats asked to go on the pill they prob get hundreds of people a year asking...so if you have any worries ask them they know best!!!
also i think your boyfriend will love and respect you more for being so mature about family planning!!! good luck!!!

If I were you I would trial the pill to see how it affects you. If you have no side effects, then have the depo injection every month. This will stop pregnancy.

The problem with the pill is that you have to remember to take it!! I think most women will admit that they have forgotten at some time.

Good on you and your mum for being able to discuss this.

At the appointment they will ask you about your periods, how regular they are, how heavy they are. They will explain how the pill works and also say that you should still use precautions, as the pill only stops pregnancy, not stds.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE FUN THEN DO IT SAFELY.

Before you go to your appointment, you should make a list of any medications you take regularly (including over the counter medications). You should also let the doctor know of any food or drug allergies you have. You should also ask yourself honestly how good you are at taking medications as instructed. If you're inclined to skip days of pill taking, the pill may not be the right form of birth control for you, and the doctor will discuss alternative forms.

I'm not going to lecture you on the value of abstinence, since you're ready for birth control. BUT... You should also remember that none of those forms of birth control will protect you from STDs. Only condoms can do that, and they should ALWAYS be used along with whatever other birth control you take. Every year hundreds of thousands of men and women are diagnosed with STDs. No one who's gotten an STD was ever told, "If you have sex with me, you're going to get infected." It often happens when they think it won't. Protect yourself!

There's nothing better than abstinence. Value yourself and your body. You will never regret it for the rest of your life.
FYI, pills make your menapouse come sooner.

Because it's dangerous. Don't put those toxins in your body, it's unnatural. Protect yourself everytime. Have the guy wear a condom, AND pull out just to be sure.
