Extreme asceticism avoids all "creature comforts" or luxury. The Buddhist's Middle Path is a compromise on that extremism, siting the suffering of the rougher edge of asceticism as being as much a "distraction" or "deterrent" to sustaining an environment conducive for enlightenment as would be the pursuit of luxury. If you are asking if such simplicity of living as asceticism is in itself a luxury or a pleasure, in my personal opinion, yes. Does that distract or deter from enlightenment? Does pleasure prevent enlightenment? Again, in my opinion, it is not the sensations of harmony or pleasure that cause all the trouble, but rather, the dogmatic PURSUIT of the avoidance of pleasure that derails an ascetic approach to enlightenment. The "mind" needs to let go of ALL such considerations. To consciously attempt to determine one's environmental conditions, whether toward material comfort OR toward LACK of comfort is about CONTROL. One cannot achieve enlightment while one is still gripping onto something and attempting control. Though, as Florence Nightingale purported, true "health" is a balance of some stressors or challenge and a noxious free environment. One cannot be healthy in an unhealthy environment. To REMOVE oneself from an unhealthy environment and noxious stimuli is more natural and beneficial for achieving enlightenment than is a subjective pursuit of a "perfect" environment.. But, is the life of an ascetic a delight (no pun truly intended with "delight" and "enlightenment"), oh, yeah.

Florence is a great city to spend your holyday; see more with hotelbye . Florence's museums, palaces, and churches house a few of the best artistic pieces in the world. Typically the most popular and essential museum in Florence are: the Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Uffizi, the Bargello and the Accademia. Churches like: Santa Maria Novella and Santa Croce are veritable artwork galleries. In Florence you can even start to see the great and different artwork variety located in the Pitti Palace. The Palazzo Pitti (The Pitti Palace) is really a large 15th century palace found on the calmer south bank of the Arno River. The palace was long time the residence of Florence's rulers until 1919, when it absolutely was passed over to the Italian state, which developed the palace into a memorial complex. Notwithstanding their metamorphosis, from royal residence to a state-owned community developing, the palace still retains the air and environment of a private selection in a grand house.
