BS with your parents? just wondering cause im not allowed to call my mom a liar, a dork, dummy, or anything of that sort unless i want to get slapped. I know a lot of people who play around w. their parents & call them f&g, dumb&ss, ect. i find it rude but i was wondering if you are/were allowed to do so?

i never swore to my parents. i never will swear to my parents. swearing is a bad habit and i'm glad i don't do it anymore.

I was never allowed to call my mom names especially if they were derogatory. However, now that I am a parent...I tend to be a little more laid back. If my girls (12 & 13) and I are talking or horsing around...we will toss out dork or ,my favorite, jackass. Jackass is actually a term of endearment in my home. With that being said...I would never stand for one of them calling me anything when they are angry or upset...as I do not call them any names when they are being corrected or displined..it is not appropriate.
f@g, dumb@ss or things that are truly mean are completely unacceptable for my home!!!
Your parents may have a different view than I do. Some people do not want any doors open that could lead to disrespect.

Nope...I wasn't allowed to BS with my parents when I was younger and really wouldn't want to do it today now that I am older. I'm with you....I find it rude as well when I see kids do it today. It is becoming more common place and I just don't get it. If I had talked to my mom like some kids talk to their parents today I would have been knocked into the middle of next week!

Only with my father cause we were as much friends as we were son/parent.I cant say i was never disrespectful but when i was i could admit i was wrong.If i treated my parents the way some kids do,like the ones you see on the talk shows my dad would of kicked my a*s.Thats what parents need to do,start beating some a*s.

Of course its rude! They are your parents! All The kids should respect their parents! But the society is changing, especially since the media is a BIG negative influence, and George W. Bush! (You know that!)

I have called them weird or an old fart. But never anything like dumba ss or dork or dummy, i couldn't.

I was never allowed to disrespect my parents or use offensive language in their presence, so calling them names was a big no-no! I also would have got a slap.

I insult my dad all the time but never anything serious-that's just the way we are. I wouldnt even dare try it with my mother though :D it is really ignorant hearing people talk bad to or about their parents

no, thats a total lack of respect. be glad your parents love you enough to have rules, it will do hold you in good stead later in life. unfortunately a lot of parents want to be friends with their children and not actually "parent" them. these kids will have a rude awakening in the real world where there are rules and regulations to be followed.......tell your parents i said" BRAVO!!! keep up the good work!"

I never was or I would probably be dead now.
My 17 year old daughter does it to me, but I know it's just for the shock value. She still hasn't gotten to me though, even though she announced to us her career choices. She wants to be a pole dancer or a homeless crack ho.
I told her that I didn't pay for her dance lessons for nothing so she should be a dancer.
