I have ovarian endo and it's about 5cm. Pills usually can take care of the pain and discomfort every month. But, I was still wondering if a laparoscope is necessary for me to remove it or it's okay just to monitor it's development (my concern is it would grow too big over time!??!). People are talking about progesterone cream...is it something to just relieve the pain or also to keep the growth of endo under control??

Size of the implant is not relative to pain. Laparoscopy is necessary to obtain a diagnosis; anything less is merely speculative. If pills are taking care of your pain and you not worried about infertility, etc.. it is your choice to monitor it over time. However, the disease is known to be progressive in nearly 60% of cases in at least one study done on the long-term effects of Endo, so early intervention, diagnosis and effective treatment is always recommended. Good luck no matter what you decide.

Progesterone cream is to keep the inflammation down. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. I had the laparoscope done because mione began to suddenly grow out of control and cause undue pain. Dont let it happen to you. Why keep it and do thru the pain each month?

I would see a doctor asap because if the cyst (called a chocolate cyst, I don't know why it's called this,) grows it could burst and spread through your ovaries and make you sterile. My daughter had 1 at 14 and she had it removed. The doctor told us if we had left it for another month it would have busted, hers was the size of a tennis ball. Please go and have the laparascope. I know what the pain is like, when I was younger I had the same thing. Having endro for too long can make it harder for you to conceive if it is not treated.

My daughter now has a 7month old son I am pleased she had the operation

It sounds like you are getting good care from your doctor. All the women I know who have had endometriosis say it got better after having a baby so obviously hormones affect it. Surgery, even minor surgery, has it's risks so if you can manage with hormones and occasional pain pills I imagine that's wiser.

One thing I know about natural progesterone is that it is a natural anti-inflammatory.
