They might not be sexist. They might prefer men, if you know what I mean.
Or, maybe they outsourced the avatar assignment to an Islamic country and they can't allow women to be seen.

I don't know, I thought that face looks a bit feminine. Sure the hair is short, but I know lots of girls with short hair (and boys with long hair). If it had a mustache, I'd have to agree with you that it looked like a man.
I tried to get a happy feet avatar, and it doesn't work properly. Yahoo mail acts up sometimes too.
I think it's just bad planning, or maybe a glitch in the programming, not an intentional thing. They probably don't even know it happened.

Apparently that is the only default avatar there is. I saw someone complaining about it a couple days ago.

Hey i never noticed that. that is pretty unfair but i kind of wish the people with out avatars would get one. it will make you stand out more. My answer would have to be so that they can encourage you to get an avatar.
