Well I am a muslim, I have christian relatives.. Id say it all depends on your beliefs.. If you take Christmas for what it is.. celebrating Jesus's birthday and not anything to do with Santa and the north pole, and snow etc... Then summer might be closer to the real birthdate.. I mean. Jesus was probably born more towards the summer months anyways.. It was in the middle east, during the time when the lambs are born, thats in late spring or early fall.. (maybe summer)..

1. Swimming in the sea on Christmas is a tradition in my family: there is nothing nicer.
2. You can cook Christmas dinner on the barbecue. Honestly. And you're not tempted to overeat so much, because it's hot out.
3. For dessert, you don't have to have Christmas pudding if you don't want to, you can have trifle or tiramisu or icecream. You can drink beer in the afternoon, rather than brandy!
4. When the kids get all hyper with their Christmas presents, they can go and play outside.
5. You can combine Christmas and summer holidays.
6. You don't have to do your Christmas shopping in the freezing hail and snow. You can give people plants for Christmas and they can PLANT them and they'll live.
7. Christmas day lasts longer, because it's close to the longest day, not the shortest.
8. You can have carols by candlelight in the park! And have a picnic!
9. There's no chance of a white Christmas, so you're never disappointed.
10. There's less pressure to dress up, so you can wear a sundress, shorts, bare feet. There's few things nicer than having Christmas dinner as a picnic, then walking over warm sand and cooling off in the sea.

Merry Christmas!

Not to use the fir-tree, methinks! You can not imagine how boring it is to clean all those needles!
I am a Middle-European, see...
Otherwise, it is only very nice when there is snow and lot of candles and a log fire and...
So to you the beach, the eucalyptus and the koalas and the kangaroos, to us snow or rain, fir-trees and the ass and the beef. To everybody who cares the baby Jesus and the presents. Merry Xmas!

Maybe you wouldn't get as many sweaters as gifts. It's good if you're anti-sweater.
