Arunachal Pradesh substitute into in the past accepted as NEFA (North eastern Frontier enterprise). NEFA substitute into area of India in the time of British rule and after. NEFA has been renamed as Arunachal Pradesh. In view of the reality that Arunachal Pradesh has been area of India when you consider that an exceedingly long era and individuals there have elected representatives to Union Parliament and state assembly below the Indian shape, the declare of China is against human beings of Arunachal Pradesh and against peace and progression of the area. the human beings of Arunachal Pradesh do no longer and have on no account demanded separation from India or the choose to merge with China. for this reason the Chine declare is beside the point. The historic traditions are actually not any excuse to unsettle the present political geography against desires of individuals.

There will be no war between India and Chian over Arunachal Pradesh. India and China have other common interests, the most important of it is the necessity to increase economic cooperation. Second they have common global interests and needs as well. Infact the Indian and Chinese requirements are intertwined. Hu Jintao said in Delhi quoting Cofucious that China ca not develop unless it contributes to Indian development and same holds true for India. I was fortunate to listen to him!
India and China are in a condition to put aside the issue of Arunachal and strengthen their bilateral ties so that there is more confidence about each other and this way trust will be built only step by step.
The timing of Chinese Ambassador's statement is important. Talking of contested issues gives China or for that matter any country a diplomatic edge when they get down to negotiating other issues. Thus by making this statement at this point China has used it as a bargain point. Howvere after Prime Ministre Manmohan Singh's statement that no boundary settlement will be done where people have to be uprooted is important and it makes the Indian position amply clear!

We have to be extra cautious over the Chinese Overtures or claims, They have a strategy of lying low and suddenly poncing on you when it serves them.
They are slowly asserting thier power in the region and India's allaince with the US now is sending China all the wrong signals,
China wants Bhutan and Burma and its other neighbours in proper control and India is sitting tight on the only link.
Tibet has always been a thorn in Sino Indian relations,
Arunachal pradesh is a Master stroke of dispute that they have come out with.
War is currently ruled out, cause China will at this point of time not have two fronts with the US, They will strike fast and unpredictably , when they decide they should do.

Unlikely, most talks of this nature are just a hype to increase the ante. If you recall, the claim was made by the Chinese ambassador but was refuted by Beijing subsequently, however the real message, without using diplomatic parlance is" hand over dalai lama and stop supporting Tibet.
