I got my toe stuck under a door and its killing me. I can't sleep. I've took BC Powders and I've iced it and its not helping. I have sharp pains running from my toe throughout my foot. It's the toe beside the big one. Any suggestions on what will help ease the pain so I can rest? I have a 2 yr old! Help!!

You could try taping it to another toe so as to not move it so much, the less movement the less pain, I have broken that toe too, now its not straight anymore, and I am glad its healed cos it doesnt half hurt, it takes about three months before you can walk on it all day with out pain. Sorry for you girlfriend.

Remember to take the BC Powders every 3-4 hours. Bind the entire foot. Wrap it up like a thick mummy in loose layers at first then a cushiony firmer outer dressing to stabilize the injury. By immobilizing the toe, the pain will be reduced. Elevate. Relax. DEEPLY relax. Let your shoulders and back and hips loosen up. Take sleeping medication if you have some. The BC Powders help with sleeping, too, if you haven't been using it often. I sure hate to hear you're so uncomfortable.

If it is broke, splint it to the toe beside it. Use soft material between the toes but a rigid structure like a partial Popsicle stick to bind it firmly. Leave the toes open to view, you'll want to check to make sure both toes have good blood flow. Where you have the half moon of white at your nail beds, press on them, see how quickly they both go back to pink, especially the one you hurt.
Make sure the support bandage is pretty fluffy, so that if you hit something else, you will have protection on it to cushion the blow.
There will be swelling, so constantly check the bandages to make sure they are not reducing your blood supply to your toes, you'd know it, they'd have numbness, tingling, and feel pain.
I'd say, go to your doc and get exrayed for a real splint.
Good luck and feel better

It sounds like you possibly broke your toe. Although you will not no for sure until you get it x-rayed. The other bad thing is, there is not much that you can do for a broken toe. Except try and stay off of it as much as possible.
My fiancee broke her big toe a few months back and had trouble walking for about 2 weeks.
It sucks. I would recommend going to a doctor just to make sure there is not other damage.
