if they just wish to view it its fine, if they want a copy of it, they should ask for it in writing, and the letter should be kept for legal purposes.

In the UK, any record that is held on you is accessible to you under the DATA PROTECTION ACT.
In a hospital you can request to see your medical records at any time. You must request this in writing and there may be a fee to photocopy them.
But as for the law yes you have a right to see them.
But as for your chart, on what grounds would the nurse not let you see this chart. In the UK, they are normally put at the bottom of the bed. Discuss this with the nursing staff.

I understand what your saying.. But you need to let him go. He has let you go and has showed you by getting another girlfriend. Not the time to think about revenge. Esp if you want him back you know? What if he comes back and announces his love for you in front of his parents. I am sure your feeling bad right now.. But wait it out.... Good things come to those who wait.. Good Luck! Oh to answer your questions.. You don't need to tell anyone.. If you think you do to feel better talk to your best friends. Or your parents. :) ** Update** You can't make someone be your destiny. If you act desperate or needy you will lose him forever. This is the ways of the world. Men don't seem to like needy women.. And if you ACT as such you will lose him forever!!!! I didn't think you wanted that??

I don't see any reason they would not be able to. This is one of those rhetorical questions that one could have answered easily before H.I.P.P.A. Now, so many people are misinformed and scared of harsh punishments they are hypersensitive to anything doing with medical information. If they want to see their chart, let them. You can't keep information about their wellbeing from them, just others.

No, They have to go to medical records and sign a release form and then they can see their chart. AT least that is how we do it in Florida.
