Light spotting is normal, but heavy bleeding and cramping does not sound good.
Go and see a your GP.
Good luck.

You can be pregnant, yet have a period the first month. Usually, it would not be like a normal period. It would be shorter and lighter. If you suspect that you are pregnant and are having cramping and passing a lot of blood, this is not a period, this could be a miscarriage. Call your doctor right away or go to the ER.

most women have no periods during pregnancy, some have light ones some have normal, im not sure about heavy, unless that is normal for you, but with any blood during pregnancy, just make sure and keep your doctor well informed.
And if you experience blood with clots,or severe cramping, call your doctor immediatly, just to be on the safe side.

Its common to have a normal period during pregnancy, most women stop their period but it can continue without any complications to the pregnancy. Many women who continue with their period during pregnancy don't realize they are pregnant until a later stage. I don't know a heap about this as I have stopped my period during all my pregnancy but know my mother in-law and aunty both had a period during pregnancy they didn't find out they were pregnant until at leased half way a they had no symptoms. Its common but to find out more information you need to speak to your doctor who can explain everything to you. Good luck

I had a regular period for three months with my first baby, so, it is entirely possible. My son was perfectly healthy...
It did concern me, though. I went to my OB for reassurance that everything was okay and that I was not miscarrying. If you're having a period, talk to your OB just to make sure that you're not having a threatened miscarriage. If you're not, your period should stop on it's own by the middle of the second trimester.
Good luck, and congrats.

I had blood each month throughout my second pregnancy, not alot but more like heavy spotting. You should always tell you doctor if you see any blood and let him decide what you should do.
