Scattering is a general physical process whereby some forms of radiation, such as light or moving particles, for example, are forced to deviate from a straight trajectory by one or more localized non-uniformities in the medium through which it passes. It can also be seen with some sound phenomena. In conventional use, this also includes deviation of reflected radiation from the angle predicted by the law of reflection. Reflections that undergo scattering are often called diffuse reflections and unscattered reflections are called specular (mirror-like) reflections.
so due to scattering only blue color is transmitted to earth

The solar sends diverse colored rays on air molecules yet blue is the only which has the shortest wavelength. The shortest wavelengths are aborbed by using the air molecules greater. The air molecules flow in all instructions making the sky look blue. and that's a fact no longer a hypothesis.

Most the visible spectrum comprises of blues n violets. During the day (sun overhead) we see the sky as blue.
During sunrise/set the blue colors are diffracted n only shades or red remain, n so during these times the sky appears orangish

My hypothesis is because it contains water. blue depicts, cool, wet and quite. the sky and high seas are known for their blue color. for example. sky-blue, blue seas, deep blue seas, blue ocean, blue anthactica etc.
There is a probability that there is water up there, which is released once in while by God. If you want indept answer, ask God.

That is because when the sun is shining over head during the daytime the lightwaves that vibrate through the atmosphere are shorter wave lengths which correspond to the blue color. Longer wave lengths of light correspond to a more redder color. Hence, sunsets range in the orange/pink/red colors during sunsets because of the longer wave length of light.
Orange, pink, red, ...all of these are longer wave lengths as compared to green, blue, indigo, purple colors, ultra violet, which are shorter wavelengths. Do you ever wonder why you get sunburned during the day time as opposed to sunsets? Again, it's due to the shorter wavelengths of ultra violet (which is a color). Hence UV rays tend to burn because their shorter wavelengths correspond to higher energy and more intense.

Sky is blue....everybody knows....but why is this so? Because there comes the phenomenon of scattering of light and have you noticed the color of the ocean, it is also blue....so may be the god loves the color blue and has made every such things seem blue.
No Physics, no chemistry, no biology....it is GODOLOGY.
