Lighter fluid will remove glue residue. (It's sold in squirt bottles and used to fill non-disposable lighters).
If that is not a convenient option, there is a product called "Goo Gone" that will also work well.

Get a bottle of Eucalyptus oil, and rub it over the scissors, or just leave scissors lying in the oil .Will also remove sticky residue from labels that have been removed.etc. This oil is a miracle cleaner for all sorts of things. Also great as an antiseptic . Look it up on Google, theres heaps of things its good for.

i do no longer understand what the situation is with dealing with great Glue. Are all of us thumbs or what? in certainty it should be shrink out or reupholtered. you only do no longer mess with glue for while it dries it extremely is the final you're able to do.

use an adhesive remover (goo gone is the brand name)
if you can't find one, you can use alcohol on a cotton ball.
