Dr.Einstein was a very intelligent and an innocent mind... a very rare combination. His last of desires was to be born as a simple farmer if the re-incarnation/re-birth theories were correct, he added !
His quotes are valuable because, he just put forth his life experience, which was free from prejudice, etc... and hence the quotes would help/serve a genuine seeker of knowledge !

I like David O's rank on the nuns (I endured them too!) ...but my fave quote by Al is:
"God does not play dice with the universe", or something like that.
It appeals to me, though I'm an an atheist, because I LOVE the concepts of predetermination and chaos theory. In short, though we cannot predict it (with our puny human minds) everyone is where they are now because of a HUGE series of interacting causalities, no matter how much free will they have! Ha! What a cosmic joke.
So..."God" may not play dice with the universe, but it sure plays dice with US!!! Some are not comfortable with this. I find it exhilarating!
I looked up "Einstein's quotes" and found these that I like:
"If my theory of relativity is proven correct, Germany will claim me as a German and France will declare that I am a citizen of the world. Should my theory prove untrue, France will say that I am a German and Germany will declare that I am a Jew." (how true!)
This cool too; reminds me of Buckaroo Banzai ("Remember, no matter where you go, there you are.")
"The faster you go, the shorter you are."

"If I had only known, I should have become a watchmaket..." Albert Einstein.
This was a comment that he apparently made in regards to his input resulting in the atomic bomb. The pain, self-doubt, the emotion in this quote really sums up what a great man Einstein was...
In a way he sold his soul to save us all...

I was sitting in a class a couple of years ago and the teacher was talking about the childrens book, Harold and the Purple Crayon. It was about using our creative amagination to accomplish things or problem solving. A couple of days later I was working in a homeowners basement and saw this book there.
I thought that I read every book out there to my daughter when she was young. Did not see this one.
I opened the book up and someone wrote one of Einsteins quotes in the beginning...."When I examine myself and my methods of thought, I come close to the conclusion that the gift of fantasy(creative imagination) has meant more to me than my talent for absorbing positive knowledge"
What a quote. Will never forget it, and use it.
Edison used his creative amagination in different ways for problem solving. When stuck for a solution on an issue, he would ask the question and then nod out for a little bit. He had some ball bearings in his hand. When he fell asleep the bearings would fall out of his hand, hit a metal pan and wake him up. He would write down his thoughts or answers that he got.
