Have just downloaded the new IM and am very disappointed in it! Was playing a game, was knocked off with error saying cannot find server and could not finish the game. Very slow when typing - has to catch up with - Is anyone else having this trouble?

sounds like you have a memory problem and to many programs running that do not need to be.follow these directions to fix the problem.
Increasing your memory.helps with the freezing/getting booted problem.You can increase your memory by.. going to start button, settings, control panel, system, advance tab, performance, advance tab, virtual memory, change it,make it 526kb or higher, click set then ok .If it’s not listed as Kb,” Some are not.” Just double the number listed.

is this the new Yahoo messenger 8? click this link and do a CUSTOM uninstall on your messenger
