As an Indian I'm not the right person to answer this question. Just wanted to let people know that not all Hindi movies are the same! Especially these days, there are quite some films that are NOT love stories and do not even have songs and dances in them. I personally like both the routine song-dance movies and the 'different' ones. To recommend a few of the last kind:
- My brother Nikhil
sensitive film dealing with the HIV issue and being gay (without being offensive or defensive!) - partly English
- Munnabhai MBBS
Comic movie about a gangster who joins a medical college. I have heard often that this one is being remade by Hollywood!
- Aankhen (=Eyes)
Interesting movie about how three blind people are trained to loot a bank
- Kaun (Who?)
Quite cool, though weird and relatively short film about a girl who is alone at home and gets scared when someone tries to enter her house.
- Black (must watch!)
About the life of a deaf and blind girl and how she reaches her goal. Very inspiring and with many English parts.
- Teen deewarein (Three walls)
About three prisoners who are in jail sentenced for murder. A lady comes to make a documentary on them, but what's her actual purpose?
I wonder what you'll think about these ones!

sure, i've got seen some. the place I stay, we are fortunate to get one or 2 new releases a twelve months, or perhaps much less interior the community self reliant action picture theater. The performing, plot, photos and music are all astounding. My sought after is the 1996 action picture "Kama Sutra: A tale of love". Google "bollywood" for extra suggestion.

Yes, although not in full. Liked the dancing, didn't much understand the singing.
