You can't prevent stretchmarks. They have to do with how much elastic you genetically have, or don't have, in your skin. Creams can help reduce the severity, but if your skin is prone to them, you will still get them. People that say they didn't get stretch marks because they used a cream probably were not very prone to begin with.
My mother had 7 children and didn't get any stretch marks. I got all of mine (quite serious ones) with my first child---took after my grandmother on my father's side. So your mother's experience is not indicative of what yours will be.
And if chocolate in the morning works for you, by all means go for it.
Good luck!

Get a thick lotion and rub it on your tummy, tush, thighs, and chest twice a day. That will help keep the skin moist and should help prevent stretch marks. Make sure to watch what you eat so you only gain baby weight. Chocolate is ok if you are only eating 1 small piece. But if you are eating a cholocate bar a day for 9 months, of course its not good for you. It will just be that many more pounds to lose later. Try a few crackers instead.

ummm sorry to break the news, but you cant prevent stretchmarks, coco butter is a good way to help make your skin more elastic so they wont be as bad, but chances are if your mother had them then you will ge them... I dont know about the chocolate.. I ate chocolate with both of my pregnancies...

Go to your nearest chemist and buy bio-oil or the best tissue oil they have. I had my baby 9 years ago and had very bad stretch marks. I only started using bio-oil now and it is so much lighter than what it use to be. So that should help.
You can eat as much chocolates as you like. It wil not harm the baby but will harm your weight gain. But i am sure you can lose it after giving birth.
Good luck.

You can't prevent them if your genetics make you predisposed to them, unfortunately. The best you can do is try to limit your weight gain and don't put on too much weight during pregnancy. This won't stop them but will limit them. Hopefully, you won't get any.

I've heard that applying cocoa butter to your skin not only prevents stretch marks, but diminishes them also.
