I know it is with 4 year places. I would assume that you major in one, satisy the gen. ed. req. and then take the required courses for the other major and not have to do any more gen ed

It is possible everywhere, but every college has different requirements. Your general education classes should count for both associates degrees, then you would just have to fulfill the minimum requirements for the associates in each field, but talk with your guidance office to verify the particulars for your school.

Yes but by the time you do that you can almost have your BS or BA degree. So get your BS or BA then go back for your double major.
