I want to foramt my Hard Disk. and then install OS, softwares etc. Please give me a detail of the procedure or steps to format a hard disk and then installing the Operating System.

Insert the CD of the OS you want to install, If it's XP then it is so easy....Restart your pc, and when it's starting up press the DEL key or the F12 key or the F2 key depending on your system's configuration, it will take you to the Bios page. There you must chane the "Boot from" option to boot from the CD drive....and after that just save the changes and exit (just press the F10 key as it is the shortcut in most Systems)......when the system reboots it will ask you to "press any key if you want to boot from the CD" ..........Press any key and it will take you to the installation page....It will ask you where to install the OS and many other things. And then it will ask you which all partitions should it format, then just select the partitions u want to format....and you r ready to install your new OS.........That's all...Best of luck!

It starts with formating your hard disk; which can be accomplished by making a disk with disk utilities, (floppy or CD) and booting the disk, then following the steps from the software. Restart, then insert the OS disk, follow its steps, then you should be in the clear. Install software like normal.

Put your new OS disc in the computer and then restart and press F12 to get into startup menu and select boot from disc, it will all do its own thig pretty much easily but you will have to select to format when it asks you and it will ask you where to install the new OS and also it will ask if you want to make any partitions.

U DON'T GIVE THE DETAILS OF U'R COMPTER WHT THE OS IS INSTALLED. FIRST U FIX WHT THE OS U WANT TO INSTALL. LETS SUPPOSE U WANT TO INSTALL WINDOWS XP.
FOR INSTALLING A WINXP U MUST HAVE A WINXP BOOTABLE CD.
START THE COMPUTER GO TO CMOS SETUP AND SELECT FIRST BOOTABLE DEVICE IS CDROM OR DVD WHT U HAVE . SAVE AND EXIT
COPUTER WILL RESTART NOW AND BOOTING WITH CD ROM. FIRST OPTION PRESS ANY KEY TO CONTI. .... U PRESS ANY KEY
AND THEN BLUE SCREEN INSTALLATION PROCESS BEGAINS

to format the pc you need the bootable cd. after that restart your computer and go in setup by pressing DEL key and change the boot sequence first boot device should be cdrom place ur bootable cd in cdrom and save the cahnges and reboot ur system after that you may see PRESS ANY KEY TO BOOT FROM CD ... just press enter and follow the insrtuction but do not press any key only after you see the screen saying enter to continue press enter after that you will get the Agreement screen press F8 key and then follow instruction.

Fdisk Format Re-install doo-dah, doo-dah. those were the days.
now it depends on your OS
If its win XP boot from cd, follow instruct for clean install, delete current partition option, then create and format a new one.

all i do is save what i want then get the Cd of the OS and stick it in my CD tray and boot up and follow what it says delete the partions and format in there place
