Anne McCaffery, David Eddings, and Joanne Bertin (though Joanne *might* be a little old for a teen, depending on how you were raised)
Also, some of my favorites when I was in hish school... Not sure of the auther I think it was Susan A.... something, but the titles are
Over Sea, Under Stone
The Dark Is Rising
Greenwitch
The Grey King
and
Silver On The Tree
There's a great poem in the second book that runs the plot through all the rest of the books, more than 12 years later and I still have it memorized...
When the Dark comes rising
six shall turn it back;
Three from the circle,
three from the track
Wood, Bronze, Iron,
Water, Fire, Stone,
Five shall return,
and one go on alone
fire on the mountain
shall find the harp of gold,
played to wake the sleepers
Oldest of the Old
Power from the Greenwitch
lost beneath the sea;
All shall find the Light at last
Silver on a tree.
Maaannnn... now I've got to go find those books again to read them... see what you did? ahhhh... nostalgia!

yeah - you'll dig Jeffrey Archer. You might enjoy Frederick Forsythe as well. If you're feeling really brainy and brave, there's a book called Papillon (pronounced PAP-e-on) which is pretty cool but the language is quite advanced. The film The Great Escape is based on a true story - find that book - that's REALLY cool. Roald Dahl wrote some adult stuff as well (look for TALES OF THE UNEXPECTED) which are just bizarre - and so very different from his kids stuff. Phillip Pullman wrote a trilogy (Northern Lights, Amber Spyglass and Subtle Knife) which is good teen fantasy. as is david gemmel.
exellent.
so utterly impressed with your attitude!

Try reading "A Wrinkle in Time" by Madeline L'Engle. "A Day No Pigs Would Die" by Robert Newton Peck is a good one too.
