I'm writing a research paper on child-directed speech, or motherese, and I've run out of subtopics to explore.

My focus is to encourage parents to use CDS while giving background information on what it is.

Please help!

I've got the basics covered.

I do not know if you have this in your paper , but I heard that if you talk to a child in the way he is an adult, he will grow up thinking he is and will generally be smarter in school. In other words do not talk baby talk but talk in regular voice as you would to your best friend. use the same comforting words when thry are hurt; use the same encouraging words when they do well; and of course use the same rhetoric when they are badas you would, but tell them why in a simple language they will understand( the old adage of you do not put your hand in the fire or you will get burned).
