I always hear about it on television, but since I have never been in there, because I am not American, or ever been a visitor there I don't know what it is like. Could you tell me? I've seen home is where the heart is, but I don't know if it was the same place.

I am a fan of WalMart. There are two where I live. Many people say they hate WalMart, but I sometimes see those people shopping there.
One WalMart has everything including groceries, the other doesn't sell groceries or have a auto shop, it just sells parts and oil and cleaning supplies for autos.

In the both stores they sell clothes for men, women and children. They sell shoes. They sell fabric, yarn and craft supplies. They sell toys, plants for indoors or garden & supplies.
They sell outdoor furniture and some indoor furnishings, like curtains, linens, shelves, lamps, electronics, etc. They have pharmacies.

The people who work there are pleasant and personable. WalMarts give money to local charities. After the Katrina hurricane, they got clean water and food to people faster than the government, and re-opened and gave people jobs.

In the newspaper today there was an article on how WalMart is using waste oil for heat, has tried to use solar energy, is using wind power to make electricty to for their stores.

I hope this is what you are looking for.

Walmart is retail store where you get most items - from apparels to hi-tech gadgets - required for normal living at low cost. The biography "Sam Walton :Made in America" would give a better picture of Wal-Mart's beginning and how it grew to be so big today. Sam Walton's simple strategies would definitely impress you.

I also thought it was something serious until I got to the second paragraph. As soon as you wrote 'with their highly defined chest muscles and rock-hard abs'. This joke is HILARIOUS! Nicely done! :-)

It is just a department store; clothing, bedding, kitchen stuff, toys, toiletries. If you have a department store in your town, just compare and imagine every employee with a blue jacket.

It's like K-Mart, kind of. Only much bigger with a lot more crap. If you're Australian.

You should feel fortunate that you've never been in one. You're not missing much.
