i'm just really bad with verb tense and changing sentences and stuff. any other lil corrections yo could make would be helpful too.

*if there truly was, their fathers’ lives may have been spared. King Hamlet, King Fortinbras, and Polonius were all murdered in the same way....
*Because of this, Claudius was able to manipulate him into wanting Hamlet dead, therefore satisfying his own desire to kill Hamlet.
*Laertes felt cheated at the fact that his father and sister were so unjustly taken, and was therefore willing to cheat and get it over with.

Okay, here is what it means if a sentence is active or passive. Active sentences are ones in which the subjects are DOING an action. Passive sentences are ones in which the subjects are RECEIVING an action. For example:

#1. Passive: their lives may have been spared...
Active: ______ (subject -- who?) might have spared their lives.

I'm not sure how exactly to change the other sentences since I have not read Hamlet, and I need more context to help you.

1. (who?) spared their fathers' lives. (who?) murdered King Hamlet, Fortinbras, and Polonius.

2. Because of this, Claudius manipulated him into murdering Hamlet, therefore satisfying his own desire to kill Hamlet.

3. Feeling cheated that his father and sister were so unjustly taken, Laertes cheated willingly to get it over with.

notice that ACTION/ACTIVE VERBS makes the subjects of each sentence DOERS of whatever the situation might be. (don't know the story of hamlet, but hope this helped)

:)
