I've been in Public ALL my life ! I just recently got into a fight on Friday ; I had to self defense myself. I jus really hate this drama and the rumor's at my school. My cousin's are really really smart..(4.0) And they all went to private schools. Do you think they'd accept me ? Also How much do you think I'd have to pay a month or so.. I don't really come from a rich family .. I am just tryna do well in school.

Most private schools don't require you to be really smart to get in. There are the rare few that do, but most don't.
I went to a private school here in Raleigh, NC called Ravenscroft. It only let's so many new students in each year, but they never base it on how smart a person is. They will usually make you do an entrance examination (test), and then they will see what areas you need to improve on. Once they find those subjects that you need to improve on, the teachers will help get better at those subjects so you can work your way up to better grades. Sometimes they will put you at a level. There may be a low, middle and high level. You may be at the lower level when you begin, but you can work your way up to middle level which is like the average, and even get to the higher level.
Private schools are great because it's a family oriented environment. Class sizes are smaller, so each class is like a family, and everyone cares about each other. Sure the kids will get into fights now and then, but I went to a private school for 5 years and never saw any fights.
Private schools range in price from $3000 to $38,000 a year. You should talk to your parents about this, and see what they think.
Here is a list of private schools in the New Britain, CT area:

- Hope this helps! Good Luck :-)
By, the way, some people say private school kids are stuck up rich snobs. That's NOT TRUE! That's just a big stereotype of private school kids. Just ignore those people that say those things.

All private schools are different, so you need to speak to your parents and then find out what the school expects from each student. I went to a private school once, they didn't care about my previous gpa, but they did make me take a test showing my IQ. The kids though are just like public school kids just alot more stuck up, and sneaky.

there is a HUGE range in prices of private schools. i went to them my whole life... but trust me there is PLENTY of drama in private schools too. and EVEN MORE rumors in private schools...and VERY clichy...if you try hard in a public school you will be fine, you just need to put the effort in.

You are going through what many students in 8th grade go through. What do you mean by the rumors? Are you talking about other students teasing you and making fun of you behind your back? It sounds like you are going through something in your life right now. It's not going to go away in private school. Students there find out stuff faster as there are not that many. You need to get some close friends to be with and confide in. Also, talk to your parents about how you're feeling and what's been going on. They can get you someone at your school to talk to. There are teachers called guidance counselors whose job it is to help students get through stuff.Public schools have more help available to students than private schools.
Do not worry about getting out of public school! Be wary of private schools as many will not tolerate any form of bad behavior.problems. Remember, they can expel you whenever they want! They don't have to keep you cause they don't follow the same laws as a public school. They will not return the tuition money if that happens. Also , if you have any sort of learning difficulty they may not have qualified teachers to help you. Keep in mind that they are privately owned and that means they get paid by your tuition. That laso means that they may not pay their teachers as well as public schools. That means that they may not hire the best teachers. Many private schools hire people who are not certified teachers. Again, they don't have to cause they don't have to follw the education laws. The public schools are funded by your parent's taxes and are more likely to help students with any problems both in behaviors and learning. The teacher's in public schools must have a degree in teaching and they must follow all the education laws.
A private school may have smaller classes but that's only cause the students that go there can pay that much tuition. Sorry to say but there will be more "stuck" up kids in private schools! I know cause I went to private school Kindergarten through 12th grade and my first two years of college! Lucky for me I had a couple of really close friends and my cousins went to school with me. The only reason I didn't go to public school was I went to school in the 1950's and 60's and it was in a very large city where there were many racial problems. Also, I went to a religious school cause my parents wanted me to learn our religion. There was no tuition to be paid. We were taught by priests and nuns who didn't get a salary. I went on to be a public school teacher and found that public school kids are more sensitive and caring than the types of students I grew up with. They will stand by you more if they are your friends.
Get some help and save your parents a lot of money. They can use that money to get you through college some day. You will get a much better education within the public school in today's society. Private schools are not as good as everyone thinks they are!. Their test scores are high only cause they have students that CAN do well. ( The teachers don't have students with learning problems cause the schools won't accept them usually. That's why you have to take a test to get in).
I taught in public school for 35 years. I found all the schools were warm and friendly and treated the students well. The only students who don't like school are the ones who are troublemakers. Before you get to that point get help from someone . If you can't go to your parents go to someone in your school. They are trained to help and will gladly do so. Find yourself some really good friends who know how to stay out of trouble. Stay away from those who are troublemakers. Don't get a reputation for being one!
Good luck to you!:)
