Ok, the last few weeks i've been having to use panty liners, cos I've been pretty mucousy. It's increasing as the weeks go by (i'm 37 weeks today), and an hour ago i went to the toilet noticed that the mucous had a pale, but distinct, green tinge to it. I've never seen it before, or heard of this happening. Is this something i should call my doctor right away about, or is it normal?

This is our 4th child.
I've been very mucousy the whole way through this pregnancy.
Had the slighest tinge of pink last week, which i know is normal.
I'm not worried about the actual mucous, just the colour.
could it possibly be a trace of meconium?

I also have a history of early births, last baby was born at 36 weeks, one before that at 37 weeks. 1st was 8 days over.

Unless your water has broken, it's not meconium. It very well could be your mucous plug, but anything greenish coming out of that orface should be evaluated by a doctor. It could be nothing, but on the off-chance that it's an infection, you need to get it treated, NOW.
A baby shouldn't pass through an infected birth canal.

OK, everything sounded normal until the green part. That doesn't sound normal at all. It should be clear, white or maybe slightly yellow. At this point a little pink or red would also be considered normal, but I've never heard of green. The only reason the red would show up is if you were passing your mucus plug, which could easily happen at this point. I'd call you Dr in the morning. I don't think it would be serious enough to call tonight.
Congrats on your pregnancy! I'm 37 weeks, too!
ETA: Just saw your concern about the meconium. That is highly unlikely. First of all, meconium is almost black in color, and second, you wouldn't be able to see it unless you water had broken, and you'd know if that had happened.

The green, is ok. My doctor gave a little list of colors that your mucous plug could be because every woman is different. And green is one of the colors. That was a little part of my mucous plug and I am 38 weeks today. So you could call your doctor and ask, just to be safe if you are worried, but thats the same thing that happened to me. I wouldnt be too worried. Good luck!

If you are 37 weeks you have nothing to worry about it just means that your cervix is getting ready for your baby to come out don't get scared its normal you might be having contracts you can feel yet so make sure you have your hospital bag ready because you could go in early which is ok to because if your baby was not ready your body would not start what it is suppose to do good luck and enjoy

When is anything green normal when its coming out of there. I would contact dr or hosptal soon as. If it is meconium you know your baby is at risk.
