$US 300.
If you bring one notebook PC they won't check - but you can most likely get them cheaper here anyway.
Other gifts if it is within reason usually will go past customs undetected as well. If everything is new, packed, and still has the price tag on it, its a giveaway.
--------
I just checked an arrival form for customs. Its $US300. As mentioned, they don't check very often or thoroughly, so don't take it too seriously, but also don't overdo it.

I agree with jj192328 I have been to the Phils many times with no real hassles. I also think that you would be able to buy a computer much cheaper in the Phils. If you really want to give a computer as a gift send it by sea freight (no weight restrictions) using a reputable company such as Forex. I have, over the years, sent more than 30 parcels by sea with no problems.

You shouldn't have any problems. The customs agents don't
really bother much in the Philippines. I've been through customs
there many times.. even with two huge suitcases full of gifts, and
they didn't seem to care. I even had a DVD player within one of
my suitcases once, and their wasn't any problems at all. .
When you enter the U.S. and you brings things back from
the Philippines, they will ask questions. But, when you enter
the Philippines.. you'll be lucky if the immigration officer or
customs agent says anything to you. I've gone through there
without them saying one word to me through the whole process.

Well, you can bring a computer as hand carry. I saw one who brought a computer as hand carry on my way here from the United States. But as a very practical way, you just simply buy a computer here. It's cheaper also. And you can simply bring with you a manager's check. Because when my former friend came here, that's what he did so as to give me $1,500 for my Medical Mission here.
Well, think.
