You could visit the elderly and lonely in one of those place where people are sent by their children and then forgotten. Give of yourself and be there with humor, music, laughter, and an a compassionnate ear. I can assure you it will be very rewarding to all involved.

Last year I spent the day at the Zoo. Usually there is a good weather on thanksgiving so go and fly a kite.

My parents used to spend the day doing yard work and having hot dogs if they were not expecting family. They said they did it to remind them of everything they had to be thankful for.
