I can't stand it! Even Loew's was selling Christmas decorations before Halloween, for cryin' out loud.

Heck Yeah! Even before Halloween (like two weeks before) the city mall had up the big Christmas tree, the Santa picture stand, all the decorations, and playing holiday music. I cannot stand it!

I love Christmas--not because of receiving gifts but because of the cheer I get being close to family and just giving.

Pre-Halloween and pre-Thanksgiving decorations drive me nuts! It's sucks out all the cheer. There's only so many times you can hear "Silent Night" or "Jingle Bells" before it gets old or regular. I think Christmas decorations and festivities should only last from after Thanksgiving until the week after New Years. Why? Because it's a special time--the malls and other places are sucking the "special" out of it!

Yes! In Canada our Thanksgiving is earlier than Halloween. As soon as Halloween is done, it's all the Christmas stuff. What irritates me is the Christmas Carols. I don't mind if its Dec 24 or 25, but when they start 2 months before Christmas they drive me nuts.

I think that commerce is to blame for this. I love Christmas but I totally dislike the displays of Christmas decoration that many times begin in October. It twists and warps the true meaning of the season.

oI too have considered decorations up in Sept. and yuletide mdse being offered in shops at that factor. yet it is the financial ingredient of Christmas whilst the actual objective and meaning is the beginning of Christ and worship of Him, no longer the presents and the trimmings. honestly Jesus become no longer born in Dec. in any respect besides. Tne advantageous ingredient I even have modern-day in our community and church is that we don't sing Christmas hymns till Dec. and not earlier and that's a blessing. i ask your self whether human beings, consisting of those answering here, voiced their displeasure and available boycotting shops that pull those early on stunts and permitting them to be attentive to they'll boycott by using no longer procuring there -possibly it may desire to turn some shops around. The greed has gotten so obscene on the area of the shops i could desire to weep.

It sure does, about 2 wks ago, someone in my neighborhood had their Xmas decorations out and lit. Recently, I went looking for some type of Thanksgiving outdoor dec. to put out by my front entrance way, none to be had, It seems as soon as Halloween is over, out comes the Xmas stuff. It seems Xmas is not celebrated for the religious meaning anymore, its all about who can out-decorate the neighborhood and who can buy the most outrageous toys and gadgets that money can buy.

Yes. It does. I know people who put up there tree at the beginning of November. Whatever happend to Thanksgiving day decorations. I suppose it's a way for stores to make more money. But it is really annoying.

Yup, I find it infuriating.... and it gets worse year after year.

I remember when Christmas started after Thanksgiving, but slowly growing closer and closer. Then Christmas spread to before Thanksgiving, and now it starts before Halloween.

I've been predicting that the beginning of Christmas will eventually start around New Year's sometime in the next century...

Gah!

personally i love it, I'm always in the spirit of Christmas but my mom on the other hand complains as if the people are going to actually take all the Christmas items and decorations down and off shelves just to satisfy her, she says it is just "disrespectful" for them to look over Thanksgiving and I tell her to try to ignore it but she says she cant, we have this same discussion every year

Yes! And the radio stations started playing Christmas music 3 weeks ago. Patience, people, patience!

I absolutely positively love this time of year! If I had it my way it would be like this all year long! NFL foot ball in high gear, Thanksgiving food (and three NFL games this year!), the Christ mass songs, the crowds of frantic shoppers, the lights, the weather, fireplaces, wine, mistletoe, cuddling, sweaters, holiday south park episodes, hugs, food, gifts (GIVING and receiving), love, and best of all making that special someone smile :)
