YES. Every computer in a LAN needs an ip address. If you are using a router, the DHCP server in the router should issue all of the ip addresses to each computer automatically. You will just want to make sure that each computer is set up for DHCP rather than static (DHCP is the default setting).

Not necessary, you could use DHCP to assign ip address automatically. BUT, if the OS or application you used require a fix ip to communicate, you need to assign an internal address (usually 192.168.n.n) to each computer in the network.

definitely.Suppose u want to communicate with ten persons. How would u communicate if u do not give name to every person?
Similarly computers must have IP Address individually to communicate with each other.Another very important matter is class of IP.Every machine should belong to the same class of IP.
Again Subnetting is an important thing to remember. If the machines belong to same class but different subnet then they will not be able to communicate. For example,if 192.168.2.x network is used then ten machines can be assigned IP Addresses from 192.168.2.1 -192.168.2.10.Explaining Subnets suppose if u give 192.168.1.x in some machine then that machine will not be able to communicate, because it belongs to some other gang my dear friend!

Depends on what type of networking your are using. and your os . There r two type Domain server/client and workgroup.
For workgroup you can configure the system to get an I.P. address automatically. in the network properties of all ten systems.
