I think he has done a good job. He believes that we should be on the offense instead of defense. If you do believe he is out to destroy our country, why do you believe that? Clinton did a lot of harm to our country by not going on the offensive, but I don't believe he intentionally tried to harm our country. Do you think Bush is harming our country by things he is doing or not doing? I believe he is doing as much good as he can, but I would like to hear all opinions.

No. Not intentionally.

The cards dealt to this country, during his administration couldn't have been played better by anyone else.

We needed a strong response to 9-11. America was calling for blood. Iraq might not have been my first choice, but I don't know everything that he does.

Katrina was a natural disaster. Mr. Bush has been abused mercilessly over Katrina. The culprit got re-elected. End of story.

The war against terror has been a long and bloody one. I believe we are fighting for the sake of civilization. As unhappy as the truth is, America was built on blood. America has stayed great by our strong military.

The people in this country that enjoy the fruits of being American, without being willing to make any sacrifice, are cowards.

There are many angles to answer this question, I will begin by saying that Clinton was on the offensive when he bombed Al-Qaeda training centers but Republicans claimed he was only diverting attention from Monica Lewinsky. I believe if Clinton hadn't taken so much heat over this action he would have continued. Secondly when a new president is coming into office the one leaving office gives a report stating the state of the union and outlining its biggest threats. Clinton's report named Al-Qaeda and Bin Laden our biggest threats and it got ignored by Bush. I do not think that Bush would intentionally hurt our country but I also think he hasn't really been in control of his office for most of his presidency. If you look into the history of his closest advisors and cabinet members you will find that they had an agenda and being in Iraq was part of it. In the end we are far worse off by Bush's actions as president because the world hates us more that ever today.

I hope not. I would love to believe that no one would intentionally hurt our country but there are people who have and would. I think he tries to be a good leader. I pray that he will lead us strongly through the next 2 years and we will be a better nation because of his leadership.

I basically believe that Bush is much like you believe Clinton was...

if you go on the "offensive" without a clue... it doesn't do any good, actually more harm...

the 9-11 report explains it pretty clearly... yet little has been done to those responsible overall...

100,000 Iraqis dead, almost 3,000 US troops dead, and counting. Do those numbers mean anything to you? Do you know what's it like to lose a close relative in times of war?

Saddam never attacked the US or UK or any other country. He already paid the price for invading Kuwait. What was the point of placing sanctions in the first place? Iraq's weapons were already destroyed. What was the point of attacking Iraq?

You should not consider that the war is damaging the US. What damage did your country do to a country that had no intention of hurting you? Now Iraq is in the state of civil war. Now, tell me, who can the Iraqi people blame? Saddam? Insurgents? DO you think that the Iraqis would throw sweets and flowers at your troops after destroying thier country and placing 10 years of sanctions? Saddam has his equal share of the blame for invading Kuwait, and America has everything to do with the state Iraq is in. The country was a good country with a nice educated population. Now, it is a magnet for extremists and all the like, and thus increasing terrorsim. So much for Bush's "war on terror".

Please consider what you pro Bush people did to a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 and no threat to anyone, not even Israel. Because we are all human and we are all a part of this world.

To fight terror doesn't involve attacking entire countries and alienating an entire civilization, it involves carrying out precies operations at the exact point with the collaboration of other countries.

So as far as I have said, did you ever consider yourself to be an extremist? I hope you know what an extremist means. I am starting to think that you are an extremist yourself.

Peace be upon you.

My answer is simple, I think that these people that hate President Bush and talk all their B.S. about our troops needing to come home are the real people hurting this country. Matter-o-fact I think they are cowards who can't stand behind their president.

I don't think he's intentionally trying to hurting the country. But I don't believe he has the good of all the country in mind. As a matter of fact I'm betting the good of the USA is a couple of notches down on his priority list.

He lied us into a war in Iraq, telling us it would be over in 6 months and we would be greeted as liberators with cheers and flowers.
He tried to tie Iraq into the 9 /11 disaster.
He refuses to implement the changes suggested in the 9/11 commission's report.
Rather than paying for a war though tax and war bonds (like we did in WW2), he puts it on credit for our children's children to pay off.
Does that sound like he's got our best interest at heart?

"Clinton did a lot of harm to our country by not going on the offensive.." PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS ASSERTION AND BACK IT UP.

I think Bush has harmed the country, enormously. Whether he has tried or not is not relevant. He has a duty to be competent and the harm has been caused by his lack of competance. Would you take on the job of a doctor if you did not know how to do it? If you were unqualified? Bush's inability to understand World Politics has been a disaster for this country. He should have done his homework before going to Iraq and all this would have been predictable. He fooled the people who voted him, just like a person can fool an HR person hiring them.

If you own a business, are on a board in any position of authority, you have a fiduciary duty to act in thebest interests of that entity,. If you are negligent you have failed in tha duty and will be fired. BUSH has been negligent and failed miserably inhis duty to this country, to you and me. Look at th lives lost, the money wasted, Its a nightmare of untold proportion and worst is still to come, Even his buddy Blaire this wek said its a disaster. He did not do his homework and he got bad advice - these omissions are tantamount to actual intent in my opinion.

Bush wants this country to thrive and be even greater than any country ever was. He would never intentionally hurt our country. No one in the administration would try to do that. Anyone who says otherwise is just completely biased. He loves this country as much as anyone else.

That being said, Bush has really screwed up. Well, I actually think that after that it was members of his administration who, after 911, went crazy. Cheney and Rumsfeld, political allies for decades, had been wanting to go after Iraq for a long time, not for WMD, but to put troops on the ground in the middle east so as to start democracy which was supposed to spread like a virus (because all people love and understand democracy, of course [I mean that sarcastically]). Of course, Bush did no see how Iraq had anything to do with 911. Bush, rightly and intelligently, fought off Cheney and Rumsfelds' Iraq first arguments and went after Afghanistan. But after Afghanistan fell so quickly and easily, Cheney and Rumsfeld made the play for Iraq and probably outmaneuvered Bush, who felt uneasy about going there at first. But his people talked him into it and here we are. Bush must know that he is in a pickle and can do nothing about it. He must fear what his legacy will be. He knows that leaving Iraq could lead to civil war which will really throw the middle east into chaos. But can we win? His choices are few and are all bad.

He made a mistake and he knows it. At some point, perhaps after he is out of office, he will say so. But as for now, he cannot. He can only say that "Mistakes have been made."

Had he known where this would lead, he never would have gone to Iraq. But he didn't. Cheney and Rumsfeld did not know either. They all thought they were doing the right thing. They were all very intelligent men who have made major mistakes. But they would never have tried to hurt our country.
