Last year on a record cold night, my sister and I saw a homeless man curled up against a pole in front of some store, trying to get out of the wind..We drove to the closest walmart(like 30 minutes away), and bought the thickest, warmest quilt we could find and went back and covered him with it while he was sleeping..
Another time, I was in Target and overheard this woman talking about how her 2 children have echzima(sp?)...I asked her for her phone number and after I found the info for this miracle cream my best friend had been using for her daughter, I called the women and gave her the info. The stuff really does work.
Another time I was at Johnny Rockets when a homeless man came around(we ate outside) and was taking whatever leftovers he could find after people left...I had the waiter get the man whatever he wanted on me, and gave him an extra $20 to give to the homeless man as well as the address for Camilla's House, a place that helps the homeless get back on their feet.
And just yesterday I was at Publix and bought so much food for me and for my friend, the bag lady really had a lot to bag, but she was so nice about it, and of course I helped her with it all....I tipped her even though you're not supposed to, and she just lit up when she saw how much I gave her and was saying God bless you and thank you...I usually feel weird giving someone something myself. I want to help, but don't want any of the special attention people usually give you when you do help someone like that...It just feels weird when people are so thankful for something that should be so common that noones thinks anything of it.

Back when I was in High School, we would buy hershey kisses and between classes, give out three kisses to random people and tell them to give out two of them to two other random people.
Recently, a friend of mine has come upon a bad situation where her boyfriend lost his drivers license and had to switch jobs. They got booted out of the place they were renting cause she couldn't afford the rent, so took them in for a while and just bought them a house so they never have to worry about being kicked out again. It was totally worth it to see her expression on her face.

Once while going thru a toll booth (the one where the attendant is there because you don't have proper change) I told the attendant I was paying for the car behind me also... I did not know the people in the car behind me but I know when they got up there and was told they were happy. Down the road they drove by me and honked and waved

Small things..random but never overlooked...I will pay for the people's order behind me in the drive thru...or at the bridge toll booth...with the hopeful intention that they will then continue to propagate the positivity

done random acts of kindness, all unplanned but eerily similar... one hot afternoon, on my way home from visiting my mom, saw a couple of korean ladies looking weary and obviously lost, so i asked them where they were headed. the social security office they wanted to go to was a long way off, so i gave them a ride. they were so thankful they offered me their packed lunch, which of course i declined. another time this elderly lady flagged me by a stop sign near a mall. she asked if i could give her a ride as she spent her last money on a box of discounted xmas cards and could not afford the bus fare. i initially gave an excuse but as i drove away, the thought of her walking all the way made me feel sorry for her and i came back. same thing with a young student who had gotten lost after doing a new route for their cross-country practice. drove him back to his school. initially felt apprehensive because he was young and a male, but i overcame my reserve and was glad i did it. he did not know the exact way back, so we had to retrace what he remembered of the route he took, which was actually more circuitous. he thanked me simply and told me his name, and as i let him off, i hoped that another stranger would show my kids similar kindness

I'm building a free website for someone I just met online who hasn't the money or knowledge to build it themselves.
I through a online art-type contest and rewarded everyone 20% of the grand prize just for putting the effort in.

Yes, I held a fundraiser for my brother who was injured and broke his back...I felt terrible for him and his wife of less than a year. He couldn't work for a year, she had crone's disease and they were expecting their first child after numerous tries and disappointments. Needless to say although I never have done this before I ended up raising about 4,000 to help them thru. He is now fine and back to work and their baby is as sweet as can be. I enjoy helping others it makes me feel good...I tend to do alot for people anonymously, anything from giving food to giving money...or helping single moms out with their kids and childcare...picking them up and dropping them off...we should all try it, it makes a person feel good about theirselves.
