Hormones bloody hormones!! Yes, it is all normal. And if there was a cure out there, trust me, a man would have made one by now! All I can say, is that when you know it's coming, begin by mentally preparing yourself. Have a plan on how your going to try to handle yourself when you feel ready to freak out and keep a stash of your 'favorites' on hand. You know, like favorite candy, beverage, CD, movie, activity, whatever floats your boat. And as far as the bleeding goes, clots are totally normal. Just kinda monitor the size and amount. As you age, it could be a sign of fibroids, but nothing that you need to get all hyper about. And no your not filtering out the bad blood in you system. Your cervix is shedding it's lining. It has very little to do with how or what your eating, and more to do with heredity and your body.

I have the same problem. I know a couple days before my period comes on because that's how bad my stomach cramps. I have to miss work or school the first day of my period always. But I take over the counter pain reliever and something that will make me sleep and I plug up my heating pad and just sleep and sleep. One thing about my period is that I don't bleed very heavily so that's one good thing.

Clumps are just blod clots. These are natural. Blood has several elements in it that cause clotting. This is general to prevent you from bleeding to death. Also, several things, including old cervical lining, can come out with the discharge. Your period does not take away BAD BLOOD per say. It does rid you of old blood.

The lumps of blood im not so sure. Have it checked out just in case, better be safe then sorry, right? PMS is common. about 75% of women have it. Regular exercices and a good nutrition helps you be balanced, and possibly reduce cramps and other PMS symptoms. Here is all the info you need :

The clots are not unusual but need to be brought to your doctors attention. Since you are moody while you have your period this is NOT PMS. PMS is Pre menstrual syndrome and your problems occur while you have your period not before your period. Sounds like you should see the doc to discuss the clots and you mood swings to see if they can't help you some.
