The UN can't be saved in any form. If you take away the Security Council there would be eough votes for the UN to invade Israel and the United States.

Even with the Security Council, there is just so much corruption and self preservation of culture and ideas that nothing meaningful will get done.

As a member of my high school Model UN team, I'm aware that the UN does alot for the world. It is broken up into many commities and each of them are currently taking active roles to prevent wars, hunger, poverty, etc. One may say "but there is still hunger in the world". Yes, well if it weren't for the UN, there would be alot more. Just becasue the UN's accomplishments aren't usually on the front page (sometimes they are), does not mean that it does not currently take an active role in the world.
