My doctor prescribed me with 20 mgs (1 tablet) of Celexa per day, however, I've noticed next to nothing from this and took 3 when one of my attacks struck me particularly hard. I noticed that it made me a little drowsy, however seemed to help me. I know it was irresponsible and childish, however, I'm wondering if anyone with experience or such can tell me REALISTICALLY bad this was for me. If 3 helped, shoudlnt I try and ask him to raise the dosage?

If you have only take 3 then you haven't given it long enough. It doesn't get in your system fully for 3-5 weeks. If it's helping don't change it just wait for your levels to peak in the brain..you will be better.

BE VERY CAREFUL with SSRI medications if you dont take them as directed they can cause serious problems.you start at a lower dosage and then gradually you raise it up depending on your needs.it usually takes a month or so before you start to feel better.just watch out for worsening symptoms, not sleeping at night, thoughts of sucide because these are serious.
if you want to try some natural therapy: (just a suggestion NOT medical advice)
rub lavander oil on your chest twice a day (breathe it in deeply)
if you suffer from anxiety GNC has a remedy called calm u nat and that works really well.also theres a pill called amoryn its a natural anti depressant with no known side effects when taken as directed. so just giving you some thought.

The best thing to do is change from Celexa to Lexapro. Alot of folks have those reported difficulties with Celexa. Lexapro is a good alternative. I myself had those problems. In addition, I also felt like I had the flu while I was taking Celexa.
