I feel safe from terror. How's life in the wonderful world of the conspiracy theorist?

Well it is obvious these people have no idea the rules of tazing.

There were enough officers there to cuff this man and escort him from the building without using a taser. A taser is meant for less-lethal force. For instance the subject is armed with something less lethal than a gun or knife.

The officers were not under threat by this subject and could have handled the situation differently. I suspect this will not be the last time this case is heard. The kid probably has a rich daddy and will take the police department to court.

Yes, the kid was acting the fool but he shouldn't have been tazed.

Failure to follow instructions and to heed warnings can make things like getting tased, shot, and beaten. That has been the rule for a long time, long before the invention of the taser or the gun. I would think anyone who has lived on this planet more than 10 years of age would understand that. The guy refused to show his ID, tried to incite people to resist that, it was after hours so his ID was requested, he became beligerant and refused to submit to authority. I am not saying 5 times is cool but I would have got him at least twice for being an asshole.

I would have shot him. Break the rules regardless of who you are, pay the price. He should have been shot for inciting a riot. If I was the policeman there I wouldn't have been so gentle.

My brother is a deputy Sheriff and he puts his life on the line every day for our citizens. These policeman were trying to get this guy to submit. If you do not submit then they taze you. Cops do not know what you have or don't have on your body. this guy very well could have brought out a knife or gun. With schools being shot up the way they are students need to show that they are no threat to anyone. If a cop tells you to stand up, get your butt up. The cops were trying to protect students and themselves.

from NPR

Day to Day, September 21, 2005 ·

Several police departments across America are planning to try a new device that uses focused sound, turned way up. These so-called non-lethal acoustic devices are already in use by U.S. forces in Iraq -- and some are already in place in areas hit by Hurricane Katrina.

These devices are more than just fancy speakers. California-based HPV Technologies recently demonstrated a "magnetic acoustic device" or MAD that can broadcast a targeted beam of sound for a more than mile. At close range, the sound from these devices can be terrifying and painful

so anyway ... i guess the American tradition of the citizenry taking it to the streets and making their grievances clear to those in the Ivory Towers are gone. i mean ... unless we're gonna become a nation of deaf people.

PS. wow! lots of Nazis responding to this question.

rdyjoe: Disssapear is also a term that refers to when a government or other party takes someone and removes them from their home and sends them somewhere secret. They are effectively, dissapeared.

I am a Republican but these cops should be sent to jail and hung within 30 days. This is SICK SICK SICK SICK SICK SICK SICK. Hell those cops shouldn't be hung, much worse things should befall them. Its not about parties. Its about how sick these cops are. How much they want to abuse their power, and about how rampant this garbage is. We would have never known about it if they didn't, fortunately, have a video camera, so just imagine how often this crap happens and no one records it. I am a Republican, but what these cops did should be punishable by death. SICK!

By the way, I have always hated excessive police force. Republicans can call me a traitor, but on this one issue I stand firm and strong. We should do what we please with terrorists, but not some dumb college kid. He should never had had to endure that crap. Horrendous.
