I can't help notice the people that answer questions about gay stuff if they aren’t gay or lesbian. Why would they spend so much time in a category that doesn't concern them? Why would they care? (The gay bashers that screw with us and post negativity is another story).

Don't get me wrong, I love them, the supportive ones any way... I just wonder why they find us so interesting...

Well, some of them are nice enough. So it's OK by me. And I don't mind the outright bashers so much as the ones who make less outrageous, yet f-ucked up, comments. The ones who are bigots, but resent being called bigots, so they rationalize like hell.(Something like: I don't hate gays or fear them. So I'm not homophobic, but I believe they are morally deficient. I am nice to them, though, and I have some friends who are gay. Plus my second cousin once removed is gay and I always say hi to him at the family reunion. Also, why do gay people make such a big deal about their sexuality? We heterosexuals don't do that.)

Give me a full-on gay basher any day of the week.

Hey as far as I know we all have almost the same issues when it comes to family, relationships, culture and all the other stuff. We even have sex the same way but with same sex partners. So exactly why would it be strange for straights to answer some of our questions? You probably think that they don't know what's like to be gay but what do you know about been straight. Dude chill out. I don't see a very big difference between my straight sisters and me. They go through the same crap i go through in life except they like man and I like woman. When it comes to our sex life we are both clueless bottom line but everything else we are equal.

You may not be aware of it but the GLBT category posts questions on the " general questions" list. If you answer it it gets into the GLBT section of the yahoo answers. As a matter of fact this question was posted in the general questions.

No stranger than gays posting in any board that isn't the GLBT board. Is this area suddenly a club for gays only? How boring.

Why shouldn't they? I've always looked at LGBT as referring to the type of questions not the people. If someone has something to contribute then why shouldn't they? Gays and straights aren't different species ya'know, we're all human.

there are as many reasons as there are straight persons(putting aside the bashers) answering here

to get points
a friend, relative or someone they know is GLB or T
they want to see how they think, so they read, than a question is found to be interesting

ETC ETC

I many times ask e book questions, and for some reason, they continually have the gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered interior the record. extraordinary... i imagine they try this for an excellent type of folk. seems the most straightforward answer on your question.

Aside the bashers, I welcome these people they ask what they wouldnt dare ask to a gay person. Or maybe they dont have a gay friend to ask.
