Looks like you got lots of feedback on this. Some good answers, and some not too good. I only hope that you let him read the results of this question. It is not to shame him, but to encourage him. But, if he is not interested in math and physics, then there must be other things he is interested in. Perhaps he would be a perfect game technician. Their pays are not very terrible, if he gets hired with the right company. I wish you all the best with this one. Do you allow him use of the computer as well? If you don't, maybe it could help him if you would allow it. He could meet other kids around his age, or older, who might be an incentive to him. Click on my avatar, I would like to offer more to you, and him directly. But we can't use the Q&A page for communication purposes. I have lots more questions. Thank you.

If he is not interested in studies, do some research on why he is not interested? It may be because of his friends, or teachers or any other factor. Go and meet his friends, teachers and the other people who are in touch with him. Find out the exact reason behind his lack of interest. Instead of you teaching him, try an expert tuition master who can patiently listen to him. Let him do simple maths in the begining and encourage him to do more. Each time when he completes a problem correctly appreciate him. Tell him and show him that doing a maths problem is not so difficult to him and he has the capacity to do the sums if he decides to do so. Slowly slowly he will pick up. You be more patient. In most cases the parents are impatient to get the result. Don't over burden him. Let him play games in the middle. Best of luck.

First understand that your son is normal. If you talked to his classmates parents most would have the same complaint that you do. If he has exam fear he needs to go into the test better prepared. Talk to his teachers. They may have a different view on this. If there are things he obviously knows , as evident from his homework and classwork but then freezes on tests, there are things that can be done. If he is a good reader, writing will come. Most boys are too impatient to take the time to write. If you want him to be better at math and physics and he likes games, find games that include mat and physics and logic.

Most exams are written, so he must practise writing.
He can coltivate interest in subjects other then Math or physics. History comes to mind.
But he must practise writing. He just have to write. He can copy 1 or 2 paragraph from any thing. Slowly slowly he must write an essay on some thing. Any thing that he likes, as long as he writes it is OK. This way his fear of exam from one point will be over.

hi, You are not alone. there are lot of children who are doing the same. do's and dont's
Don't
Do not force him.
Do not compare.
Do not scare him by saying if he does not do well in maths/physics he will not get into engg.....
Do's.
There are now lot of materials, support available to make maths and sciences intresting.
but in your case it is a 15yearold. so he is already grown up and should be having his own ideas. talk to him. may be he is not intrested in sciences. could be doing well in other things. find out why he is blocking maths/physics. sometimes we as parents may be unknowingly harming our kids by forcing. (Ex. my son hatess hindi. he feels hindi is not needed. he is very good in all other subjects. so we talked to him as he is right now aspiring to join the army, we have used that as a olive branch telling him that to communicate you need hindi in the army.ofcousrse he is 9)
Communication is the only way. to find out what is missing link.Talk to him. Find out if he is under peer pressure. sometimes it may sound silly but you dont want to do a subject, because you don't like the teacher/not in good vibes with the teacher. if he is good in sports encourage him.
Hope this helps.

I certainly have a answer that the two you and your sunlight ought to stay with. How approximately getting him some video games that are academic. you be attentive to video games which could stimulate his study. video games that ask trivialities questions, approximately historical past and such. possibly video games that reward him for properly fixing an algebraic equation. He ought to earnings on a format that he's mushy with, a interest format. this could help him together with his study.

I'm 15 & in the midst of exams, all I can say, no one likes it but some people have the natural drive that others (like myself) lack. You have to give him an incentive.
Good Luck,
It may work it helped me
