Okay, I currently run AVG Free as my primary antivirus. I just got a popup saying that AVG will discontinue their AVG Free service. What free firewalls do you use? What are their pros and cons. Do they seem processor heavy, or run lightweight? My criteria are it must be free w/ no strings attached, and must be lightweight, and must not be a Norton Product (YuCk!). Thanks!

1) I don't know if you are using their free version from http://free.grisoft.com or you are using a trial copy of their commercial version.
2) There are ample free alternatives if you discontinue its use.

3) If you have win xp, then its built in firewall is as good as any other. But if you want another one you can use zonealarm.

I use Zone Alarm firewall, and Avira Antivir guard.
In combination they work very well.
You can get Zone alarms from
http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/freeDownload.jsp

and Avira from
http://www.free-av.com/

all totally free.
