In life we have all kinds of this happening to us that we do not understand. Money is not what you make you happy. Just about every one is going thru some type of financial problems. If nothing else know that you are loved and not alone. So what you don't have a lot money, think about this way, we people sleeping on the streets don't have money either, but you have a warm bed to sleep in every night. I can say these things because I understand what you are feeling. One thing that really helped me was I had to put myself on a very strict budget and not sway from it for anyone or anything, and guess what it is working out fine. Look inside yourself and see that you have so much more than money.

Broke is your situation. Happy, or any other state of mind, is your reaction to it. Live mindfully -- by that, I mean, work when it is time to work (don't slack off), then quit when it is time to quit. Take time to enjoy the things that don't cost money; learn to plan your time and money expenditures so that they fit what you have. For instance, does cable TV really make you happy, or is it just something you're comfortable with? If you can afford not to have it AND be at peace with that, you will find $60 or so a month that you didn't have, AND be happier for both the money and the ability to enjoy watching people playing frisbee with their dog in the park. But this is only an example.
Being happy with what you have does not mean suffering, or being miserable. If you are miserable with what you have, you can either change what you have, or change how you feel about it. Those are the only two choices.
Peace, and Good luck.

you question should not be...happy, when in fact...
but rather How can I manage to be happy in spite of being broke.
The answer my friend lies in the wind... O sorry, that should have gone to the music side of answers...
If and when you decide that George does not give happiness, you will then be able to look elsewhere for happiness.
Happiness starts within, and is demonstrated by your outward actions. Start by being nice to somebody for no reason, after all, this doesn't cost a dime...
I have found that happiness is an appreciation and desire for the things that you HAVE, not for the things that you want or don't have.
A better way to say it, is that there is no magic pill for happiness.
We all build our own level of happiness by our actions and reactions.
If you need more money, then I suggest you either work more, or get a better paying job. IF you can not control your income, control your out go.
If you are dead-ended in your job or field, go back to college.

If you are in good health, get a second job, on the weekends, or a 4 hour job after you come home from your regular job. It is up to you what you want to do. Be happy that you have your health, and you can earn extra money, if you have to. It will pay off, years from now, try and be happy, over all the good things that will come your way. You will never be broke, if you can work and put food on your table..good luck..

You won't be happy until you find that money will not buy happiness.
