since you apply to college early in the fall, (i think?) do colleges ever see your list of courses/grades/etc for senior year? and is freshman year really that important? which year counts the most in h.s.? also, is it beneficial to take accelerated courses over the summer for extra credits at a local college/university? do colleges like to see this?

You do apply for colleges in the fall, and the colleges do indeed see your list of senior courses and eventually your semester grades because they ask for your transcript. (At least, that is what happens with U of CA applicants.) Freshman year classes do not play a major role, but your GPA should not be low because it contributes to your average GPA in high school. Sophomore and Junior years are extremely important; therefore, I advise you try to take challenging courses and excel in them those two years. I personally have not taken any courses outside of school, but I know others who have but only because the course is sometimes easier at a community college than the course in high school! I do not know the colleges' opinion. good luck with high school!

If you have been accepted at the college, they probably will not go back and check, but if you were accepted on the probation that you will graduate from HS and take the accelerated course for your chosen major they will. All your years in HS are important to colleges beause they look at your cumulative GPA which starts in your Freshman year. You mgiht apply in your Junior year or beginning of your Senior year but your interview will be later at which time they may ask you to bring a current report card. If you want to start college in the summer that is great. There is no law that says you have to wait till Sept. This might also be good if you need bridge work because of classes you missed in HS.
