Indeed, Nitrogen, oxygen, hydrogen (as water vapor), carbon (as carbon dioxide); make up the major components of air, techically these are compounds and not elements. Their formulas are; N2, O2, H2O, and CO2. helium, neon, xenon, krypton, and argon are elements (all noble gases).
