OMG My Hubby just told me I dress like an old woman, Ok, let me break it down for you, I just celebrated my 30th birthday this past weekend, I wanted some clothes for my b-day so my hubby took me shopping, I was then told that all the items that I picked out looked like "Old Lady" clothes. I am 4' 9" tall and weigh about 98 pounds, so I hate to shop for clothes! I never find any clothes that fit when I go shopping, Is there anyone out there who is about my age and body type who has found a great place to shop for size 0 or 1's that actually fit with out visiting the tailor? Please help me; I am so tired of shopping in the little girls section of most stores.

Check out http://www.jonesboroinfo.net they have several good links to shopping there.
For your husband, shame on him, you sound like a sweet lady who has tried very hard to keep in shape and he should be very proud of you for it.
I know it can be very frustrating, my mother was 4'10" and 80 something pounds, had the same problems finding clothing.

Yes this will take more involvment on your part. but you will most have to likely visit the petite section of stores and get the style and fashion you want and you will have to take it to a taylor. Its the same with women who are tall and big breasted sometimes the outfit looks right in some spots and not in another and you need room in your upper chest or your squashed so they take a bigger size then have it taken in to fit better. you are a small statue in size and you dont' want to go around looking matrine ly ( someone old before there time lives on a ranch like little house on the prairie clothes) you want to look sexy and feel sexy and your husband im sure will enjoy seeing your nice shape and petite size in something more flattering and you'll love the look once you see yourself put together nicely. Hey dont' look at it as a chore lots of women small or tall big busted or flat need to do this. The clothes rack arn't made realisticallyl and were not all the same size or straight up and down.
Good luck and make it a mission for yourself. once you do this you'll be pleased.

I would suggest the teen department in walmart, Try Fashion Bug, the Gap, Online will also help too. But if your husband wants you into some nice sexy clothes he wont mind paying a pretty penny nor will he mind getting them online. And if he can't then have him take you to the mall, many good stores there with SEXY clothes... hope he wont mind the men gawking at ya when you put some of those clothes on -grins-
Here are a couple sites I found online.

Laurel Ashly has a petite section..so does Reitmens.. You want to start shopping thru ebay also, lots of things on there. For many of your clothes tho, you likely will have to go to a tailor to have it fitted.

try double 0...go to marshalls or ross or some other nice stores...get your clothes in the junior side... and get opinions from young ladies around you...never get turtle necks, bulky clothes, ruffle blouses...get blouses, not regular t-shirts....finish a great look with a nice belt, purse, hi-heels or boots, and jewlry. look in magazines (enquire,OK, in-touch)..and get some nice fashion ideas
and you dont need to go to any tailor if you try using double 0's and fold them in not out and if you want you can sew them a few notches of thread on each side....not all around...

You're tiny like my older sisters! They're both 4-foot-ten. I'm 6-foot-one, I think I'm the mailman's kid lol...Anyway, I'm not sure where you live, but here in New Jersey there is a chain of stores called 5-7-9. They only carry sizes from 0 to 9.

Try The Gap. Their clothes seem to fit better on those who are slender or petite. Good Luck!

Bryan's or La Chateau usually cater to slimmer builds, seeing as I rarely find anything that fits there. If you're any more than a B cup, or you actually own a real butt, don't bother.
