I took an ACT practice test to get the idea of how the test and the format will be like. I haven't finished but so far I got a 29 on English and 29 on Math...taking into consideration that I was tired with a unfavorable testing environment(I really thought I would do better)

With a little studying and a refreshing test-day, do you think I have the potential to raise my scores in the 30's?

Sure.Anything is possible. Good Luck. Alot of people do horrible their 1st time, retake it and do fine. So why not?

Sounds like you have the potential for it. Whenever I took practice tests, I tested around the neighborhood of what I got on my actual test. I think my practice ACT was a 28 in both while my actual was 29 in English and 30 in Math. Relax on the day before hte test. It really helps. Good luck.

My daughter got 29 on the practice test, and 26 on the actual. I talked to the admission counselor at her college and she said that they rarely see scores raise more than a couple of points.
It never hurts to try though and studying should help.

If you study, you probably have a good chance. Definitely do more practice tests. Here's some other advice about each section of the ACT, it's an article: http://admitspit.wordpress.com/2006/09/16/the-guarantee-to-a-top-act/
