First of all, stop beating yourself up. It was a mistake. People make mistakes all the time. You are not a dummie. And I certainly don't think it's worth killing yourself over.
Now that you have realized this was not the right advice, you need to tell him asap!! "Look, I made a mistake. The network cables and electrical wires can not be put together in the same pipe." He will be happy you let him know sooner as opposed to later. It's always easier to fix early on rather than letting them realize after the fact that there is a problem. And stop fretting about it. I'm sure they make mistakes themselves all the time.

wow, don't beat yourself up about it. Everybody makes mistakes whether it be in the job setting or at home. Making a mistake is an unavoidable part of human life. Just call the person and explain that you made an error and tell the person the proper procedure to fixing the wiring problem. I'm sure the person would rather have you tell them now then wait and the problem end up worse. Just apoligize to the person for your error and then let it go. I know it's easier said than done but trust me, this will pass. Forgive yourself for the error, recognize that ALL PEOPLE make mistakes, remember that people are very forgiving and those who aren't are usually assholes in the eyes of other people. I don't know if you were kidding but suicide is not funny. don't even consider suicide as an option for anything. It's not the answer. Good luck. ;D

The best way is to honest and up front. Just tell him you thought there would be no problem but you have now discovered it may cause problems with signal loss. The electrical engineer should have known himself anyway. Its both of your fault! Why dont you share the burden?

Dude, come'on everyone makes mistakes, just tell him you made a mistake and that you need to seperate them. The electrical engineer that you are working for has made mistakes before, even if he thinks he hasn't. Don't beat yourself up so bad, make the change, remember your mistakes and improve yourself everyday.
Being honest is the best, even if they get mad, people trust you when you are honest even if it is not the answer or they want to hear.

you better tell him right away so it doesnt get f---ed up even more. Just be yourself and be real...call him before he calls and and just say hey man...i've been thinking about what you asked me earlier and I think that wouldnt be a good idea because....and then tell him why. if you have the info to back it up and handle it quickly he will know you are smart and are doing your job...just dont wait good luck
