Okay, I strongly feel this way. A woman/man is getting paid to engage in sexual activity with another woman/man. (Except this is all on camera, and the woman/man is getting paid a whole lot.) Prostitution is similar because a woman/man is getting paid to do some sort of sexual activity except you do not become famous for it, and you do not get paid as much. What do you think?

Yes, it is. Getting paid to perform sexual acts is most certainly prostitution.

That said, it is not as the feminists say a way of exploiting women. They view it as a way to get money and consent to it, so where is the exploitation?

I've had a marriage break up over it and know the harm it does to people who become addicted to it. I've also viewed it myself to find out what the hoopla is all about, and found nothing tasteful or enjoyable in it. Then again, the men's porn has no romance, no love, and no enticement to anyone who wants a real relationship and intimacy. It's about an abusive sexual activity in many cases.

Anyway, there is the freedom of speech and expression thing in this country and as long as it is consensual between adults....

What troubles me about that is sites advertising "young teen sex" in which "adults" are made to look like 13 to 16 yr old girls. The mindset of the people engaging in this is for young girls.... even if the ones being viewed are adults.... what they WANT mentally is a child and I do have a problem with it. My ex had issues with my daughter and she was nine years old when we married! When I found all the websites he had been to.... well... I got what was happening. He was a pedophile in his desires..... as I believe many of the sick (insert language a lady won't say here) are. Just because the porn is technically legal, doesn't mean the guy isn't a sick, twisted (insert another term).

If a man is deep into porn, I wouldn't let him near my daughters. My ex admitted to me that he could not be in the same room with my daughter without having an erection. That was after we split up. I would have kicked him out a lot earlier had I known what was going on.

Don't be fooled. Legal and consensual doesn't mean "good for you" or even "acceptable."

I understand where you are coming from, but I'll have to say no. The reason is because the actors involved are not typically doing it for the sex, they are doing it for the money, both the man and the woman.

Sometimes couples are filmed who regularly engage in sexual activity of their own free will. Is it prostitution just because they get filmed? I don't think so.

Can pornography be used as a pretense for 'legal' prostitution? I think yes. Though that would have to be decided by the courts.

A lot of people would like to legalize drugs, but not prostitution. I don't understand the difference myself, but that is another topic.

No sorry. But if you need to think this ok.

Anyone can make the same case for any kind of acting whether it be live on stage, film or even music.

In a way we are all prostituting ourselves because we have to "act" our lives to make a living for dollars and not just be our natural selves.

I would have to say that it is a form of semi-legal prostitution.

Unfortunately, porn not only degrades the actors (women especially) but leads to no where. Well I can't really say that, those that engage in unprotected sex do wind up getting some kind of disease.

How do you know that the woman is being paid a lot?

You experienced in that?

I think pornog is addictive, demeaning, and exploits womyn and children, as well as men. It even exploits animals.

My comment is for Joey Jo yo.... how do you know that everyone paying for these "movies" are not getting any? That's usually the whole purpose in watching porn....

And, if you think about it... most porn is not legal.

I agree. I also think if consenting adults choose to engage in any form of prostitution, it is none of my business.
